The Prophesy : My ancestors, the Taino had a prophesy that told of the coming of strangely dressed people. This painting illustrates it happening over five hundred years ago.The time was right because when the Spaniards came to the Greater Antilles it was a 13 Ahau calendar date. The Taino's ancestors were the Araguacu. The Araguacu left Central and South America and migrated to the Greater Antilles. I have a theory that my ancestors got the prophesy from the ancient Mayans and Aztecs since the had a cultural exchange going with these ancient peoples.Perhaps my ancestors left their homes to avoid the prophesy. It didn't work, because they were the first to suffer under the changes that thirteen Ahau would bring.

Atabey Rising : My ancestors, the Taino, were the first people to meet and greet Cristoferin Columbo. After the Spaniards came to the greater Antilles the Taino were enslaved. They almost became an extinct species of people. What saved them was that they chose to run away from their slavery. They had no other choice because the Spanish had superior technology at the time. The lesson herein is all about choices and survival. It was prophesied that the Taino would rise again.Over five hundred years later, here I am, amongst others, painting, being.

Ayes Hyper Visualization of The Girl in Awe o : This painting won best of show at the Orlando Museum of Art's First Thursday's competition, My Favorite Master. Our task was to replicate one's favorite master artist's work. I chose Vermeer's Girl With the Pearl Earring. The First Thursday's staff called after seeing my first entry and requested that I create a new image of the Girl but with a new twist. This is the result.
